Gate of Marin
The following designs were made exclusively for Adele Gilani Art Gallery by Cricket Press, in Lexington Kentucky.
"Gate of Marin" comes from a poem called “October in the Railroad Earth “ by Jack Kerouac. Kerouac wrote this piece in San Francisco during the fall and winter of 1952-53.
The excerpt reads, “But it was that beautiful cut of clouds I could always see above the little S.P. alley, puffs floating by from Oakland or the Gate of Marin to the north or San Jose south, the clarity of Cal to break your heart. “
The Golden Gate Bridge means many things to many people but for people living on the Marin side, it’s a symbol of home.
